Young, Monroe help Tigers top Astros

Astros at the plate: Brad Ausmus had a pair of hits, and Jeff Bagwell and Adam Everett contributed RBI singles. Chris Burke went 2-for-4, reached on an error and also stole a base.
Tigers at the plate: Dmitri Young went 3-for-3 and Craig Monroe added a pair of RBI singles, as the Tigers collected six hits and three runs off Houston right-hander Roy Oswalt. Omar Infante scored the go-ahead run on a groundout by Nook Logan, and Monroe's second RBI single gave Detroit a 3-1 lead. Logan also chipped in with an RBI single, while Josh Phelps added an RBI double off Joe Valentine in the ninth inning.
Astros on the mound: Oswalt went six innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits. The right-hander walked one and struck out three in his longest outing of the spring.
Tigers on the mound: Kenny Rogers pitched five innings and limited the Astros to two runs on seven hits. The left-hander walked two and struck out two.
Grapefruit League records: Tigers 12-8; Astros 7-11.
